LETTER OF INVITATION

Visitors to the UK require either a visa or an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) to enter the UK for short stays (up to 6 months.) Please ensure that you have the necessary documents arranged for your participation in Experience Africa 2026. The organisers of Experience Africa are able to provide you with a Letter of Invitation should you require one to support your application. Please complete the below form to be provided with one.

What is the ETA?

The UK government has introduced an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system as a new requirement for visa-exempt travellers entering the UK. If you require a visa, please ensure you follow the appropriate processes. 

This affects nationals from certain countries who previously did not require a visa to visit the UK.

Who Needs an ETA?

If you are traveling to the UK for Experience Africa 2025 and are from a visa-exempt country (excluding British and Irish citizens), you may now be required to apply for an ETA before your journey. The system is being gradually rolled out, so we strongly advise you to check your eligibility well in advance.

How to Apply?

  • Applying for an ETA is a simple online process that involves:
  • Complete an online application form
  • Provide personal and travel details
  • Pay a small processing fee
  • Receive electronic approval, typically within 48 - 72 hours

When to Apply?

We recommend applying as soon as possible once your travel plans are confirmed. Entry to the UK may be denied if you arrive without the necessary ETA approval.
